Joe Hillman is the one of the most soulful, genuine and kind-hearted people I’ve ever met. I consider it a great privilege to call him my friend. Writing from 2020, our friendship is in our 11th year and what a whirlwind its been! We first met through a mutual musician friend of ours (Thanks Dan!) and since then we’ve spent countless days and nights together playing weddings, bar gigs, and everything in between. Joe is a cosmophonic band leader. He’s a gig wrangler. He’s a human Jukebox. Joe will play all night long and even if you’ve heard it all before, no song unfolds in quite the same way. Making music with Joe is a celebration of life and that's exactly how he likes it. We made these recordings over the course of three days and tried to encapsulate that celebration as best we could. Joe is front and center, singing, playing, and storytelling as only he can. Jordan and I have been core supporting members for the last couple of years but there are many musicians who have shaped these songs as they are on this record. We dedicate this to all of them and the many to come who will have the same privilege I’ve had these last 11 years; making music and celebrating life with our friend Joe. We hope you enjoy the tunes!
